The Sex Offender Website is provided to you at no cost by Arctic Originals, Inc.  Donation is not required to use this site or to obtain free information, we only ask your support so we may continue this service without mandatory user fees.  We host only those sites authorized by state Attorney General offices from each state listed here at Sex Offender.com.  State Department of Justice offices are responsible for updates and all information provided within each respective on-line state database. Specific state laws require a person who is a resident of any hosted state and who has a qualifying conviction to maintain registration with the local police department or sheriff's office in the jurisdiction where the person resides. In some circumstances, out-of-state registrants are required to register their in-state employment or college addresses.

The online listings include offenders who are identified as lifetime registrants as defined by law, or have been designated as high-risk offenders by the Attorney General's Risk Level Committee. 

The sex offender website is updated continuously based on information provided by federal, state, and local government agencies and the registrants themselves. However, registrants do move and fail to notify the proper law enforcement agencies of their change in residence. As a result, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation cannot guarantee the accuracy of address information. In some cases the last known residence address verification date will be provided for registered sex offenders.  

A recent Associated Press article from California reported that approximately 30% of CA sex offenders were living somewhere other than where they were listed with the state.  Be advised that addresses frequently change and offenders aren't necessarily changing them with the state - any state, not just CA.  There needs to be stricter supervision of offenders nationwide (increased resources) and greater penalties for failure to register changes of address.  

Please be advised that approximately 28 state agencies post their sex offender registry via the Internet.  In some cases a state agency may not post the information but a local law enforcment agency may post for offenders within their jurisdiction only.  In some cases, the state agency posts the registry and the local agencies post as well. 
 
The purpose of this list is to promote public protection from the potential risks posed by individuals who have committed offenses in the past. Sex offenders have always lived in our communities, and the accompanying risks have always been present. This method of public notification is an acceptable way of reducing that risk and enhancing public protection. Any actions taken by persons against these subjects, including vandalism of property, intimidation, harassment or verbal or written threats of harm against these subjects or their families, landlords, or employers, are not acceptable, and will likely result in arrest and prosecution of those persons.
